Arsenal.com is turning its attention to the World Cup. Sixteen of Arsène Wenger’s squad are in Germany and we asked a reporter from each country to assess the fortunes of each representative. Here’s Uri van Buskn, a reporter from De Telegraaf, on Robin van Persie of Holland:
Who are the other players in his position?
"Robin plays in a right-sided role for Holland and Dirk Kuyt is the only other one who is contesting that position. There were attempts to get Salomon Kalou a Dutch passport because [coach] Marco van Basten had the right-sided position in mind for him, but that didn't work out. Robin is there because Van Basten wants more creativity on the flanks."
What was his involvement in qualifying?
"He was not that involved in qualifying. He played against Romania and was fantastic when he came on as a substitute against Finland, but after that he didn't play for a while because of issues off the pitch."
